"I am afraid I have shown in it the secret of my own soul." -Basil Hallward
"If it were I who was to be always young, and the picture that was to grow old!... I would give my soul for that!" -Dorian Gray
NOTE: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FILM (which I haven't seen and don't intend to, 'cause I'm afraid it'll ruin the book for me =.= )
THIS IS MY OWN INTERPRETATION OF THE CHARACTER FROM THE NOVEL (Novel is a must-read!! >.< Dorian has blond hair and blue eyes in the novel.)
I was so enraptured and "enlightened" (be scared, if you know the story) by the novel, I had to draw this! First of its kind - I wanted to try some sort of 'realism' style, and also so it fits the novel. Hope it turned out okay! >< This nearly killed me, and indeed, I have given it my very own soul.
I recycled an idea from an old work: [link]
Notice how (with full view) everything within the frame is sharp and "realistic", whereas everything outside has a brush painted effect - to highlight the "living portrait with a soul" kinda thing. (I might redo this later, when my skills get better. =.= *sigh)
MEDIA: Photoshop (and a lot of @_@)
